    New One Man Boat

Two guys with an electric filet knife doesn’t take that long. On the other hand, I like to go with a guide about twice a year and let him filet mine. 😄

Live from the Stand - 2025

Late winter and late summer are the two most stressful times of the year for deer, as well as other animals. That’s why I try to feed my deer (and wind up feeding these turds as well).

All of the motors with spot lock have difficulty when there is little wind. It’s not too funny when you are standing up and the “lost” motor takes a sudden burst in the opposite direction ! Had that happen to me once, damn near took a dip !

    House and Habitat build thread:

They can move a foot in a heartbeat. One year I killed two does out of the same 10’ tripod that was put together in a mesquite tree. The trees aren’t very tall in that part of the Northern Hill Country of Texas ! I shot both of those does at about 12’/13’ yards about two weeks apart. They were...

The rumor is, and it’s just a rumor, that you Midwestern guys got bucks like that behind every tree. Any truth to that Cat ? 🤣

    Henry fan here too ! I have a .22 mag, .41 mag, and a .45 Colt.

    .22lr Rifles

My two cents, a CZ would be hard to beat in a nice, accurate bolt gun. For a fun gun, a Ruger 10-22 or a Henry lever gun would be my choice. A nice , medium range priced 3x9 or 2.5x10 would make a good scope for either.

    factory ammo

Federal Fusion bullets are great, but shooting deer in the high shoulder is better ! I can’t physically drag a deer very far anymore either, bad knees and little stamina. Shoot them in the high shoulder and watch them fall. Shoot the red dot !

Is it possible to hunt the bottom of this property?

No, I haven’t. I always washed my clothes in Dead Down Wind, sprayed myself and anything I had with me with the same product and used the Ozonics. It has to mount over your head pointed to the window you expect the wind that leaves the blind will go out. I found it much less effective in a tree.

Is it possible to hunt the bottom of this property?

I had a creek bottom that I ruined for a couple seasons by hunting it on the wrong winds. At the time, I really didn’t understand the affects of different winds on a winding bottom. It was great soil for plots, the deer loved what I planted and they ate the hell out of it…when I wasn’t there. I...

    Tc encore

This thread may cost me ! I ran across a Contender in .357 Magnum today for a good price. My immediate thought was that I don’t need another .357 Magnum but it could easily be rechambered to .357 Max. I don’t have one of those…
