    Buying land, loan question

Have you tried a bank in the county seat where you want to buy. I arranged my financing and had a letter of credit in hand when I started searching to show the sellers I was not wasting their time.

    Ruger 10/22

I have no idea when or if the trigger was improved. I can say I have never shot a 10/22 with a stock trigger that was crisp, no creep, 2 pound , breaks like a glass rod. I would not say it is impossible to shoot accurately with a stock trigger. I would say it is way easier to shoot well with...

    Ruger 10/22

Exactly. At the time I bought the 77/22, Timney did the trigger for $60. $150 for the 10/22. I see trigger kits available like you said. Pretty pricey at that. You could sink $400 in a 10/22 to make it acceptable. I just don't understand how Bill Ruger let such a horrible trigger go out on an...

    Ruger 10/22

I resisted the urge for 10/22 because of the trigger. I bought a 77/22 and sent it off to Timney. I have no idea what trigger work would cost today, but I would not have a 10/22 with out a trigger job.

    I must be honest.

Thanks for your response. My opinion has not changed. I still prefer young deer with the milk still dripping from their chin. I got over the antler size thing many years ago. My son in law has shot a few more big bucks and he took them to a local processor who made them into ham like sandwich...

    Planting without fertilizer

Yep. Cow peas don't ask for much and you get time to broadcast some winter rye shortly before the first killing frost. The most they ask for is a little lime. Sun hemp will grow on gravel. Good choices, low input, big return.

I like wildcats too. I've got a Bullberry ,12"",in .357/44 Baines Davis, Contender Barrel. I've chrony it right 2000 fps with a discontinued spire point 150 gr Rem Core Lok'd spire point . That's a cold weather load . I've taken a big doe at a 170 yards. Many under a 100 yars. I would carry...

    single shot rifles

An update: I put my 45/70 barrel on my Contender and started working up a load. I was looking through my reloading supplies and found a 100 ,300gr Rem Core Lokd HP's. I loaded up starting very light and increased till I started finding the recoil objectionable. So I'm going to use what I have...

Hand cranking tiny white clover seeds

I have a SOLO spreader. For small seed I tape closed one opening and tape a piece of card stock with a appropriate size hole over the other opening for the rate I'm looking for. It is more likely you will put it on too heavy than too little. I shoot for 2 passes . North South then East West.

    Broadcast corn and soybeans

IMO agree with E fence with either. It's taken a few years to get enough ,but the e fence is worth the investment. I would not have a garden without them. I watch ebay for used Zareba's .
