    Throw N Mow thread...

Just curious, why would you mow before you throw seed, how would the seed be covered?

    Say Goodbye to Regenerative Plotting?

If the outlook is that bleak, it may be best to stop planting altogether and spend that money on timed feeders and corn.

    Will a cultipacker kill oats?

I wouldn’t think it would kill your oats, I have a Woods that is similar to your Firminator and I plant into living plots all the time with no problem.

    Undecided, but leaning !😁

They can certainly make a mess of a plot.

Question about small seed and cyclone seeders

I wouldn’t mix the clover in your 3 point spreader, use your 3 point for the big seed and spread the clover with a chest mounted/over the shoulder walking spreader.

    Food Plot Drill

I was in your shoes for a long time and finally bit the bullet and bought a 7’ Woods minimal till planter about 5 years ago, it has small and large seed boxes and works great. It cut my planting time by about 2/3rds and I get much better germination, my only regret is that I didn’t buy one many...

Cultipack my existing clover plot when overseeding or not?

I wouldn’t cultipack it, throw your seed/fertilizer and mow just before a rain event and you will be fine.

    Superior Industries Sprayer

I’ve been using boomless for a lotta years on my small atv sprayer and would never go to the hassle of booms, now on our 500 gallon pull behind at work, booms are absolutely the way to go but not on a small atv sprayer.

    WOODS seeders/products

I plant thru standing vegetation probably 90% of the time, I plant cereal grains and brassica mixes into standing clover every year and set my disk almost straight to do as little disturbance as possible and it works great. I have also planted some 8-10 variety summer mixes and then planted...

    WOODS seeders/products

Like SwampCat I also have the FPS 84 and absolutely love it, my only complaint is that I didn’t buy one 10 years earlier! I love being able to plant my large seed deep and small seed shallow in one pass, it is a huge time saver and I have not used my spring tooth plow or harrow in the 3 years...

    ANOTHER DRY YEAR?

I’ve been absolutely spoiled here in west central GA because we have had plenty of rain for the last 18 months or so, unfortunately now it hasn’t rained in over 2 weeks with none in the 14 day forecast and we’ve got mid 90’s highs starting too. It’s been raining here for so long I had forgot...

Now is the Time for Clover Plot Maintenance

Chicory isn’t a legume so it will not add nitrogen to your soil, it actually does a decent job of scavenging nitrogen from the soil and also needs some nitrogen at planting.
