    Shooting doe with fawns

I have always givin a pass to that situation and enjoy for what it is at that moment. The dark side of me chuckles a little bit that they did not sense the reaping death that I could have brought down on them :) Our doe population in my area is pretty good right now and there will be a good...

    Broadleaf control in Sugar Beets

Greetings Gentlemen! This year was my first attempt at a sugar beet plot. The beets are coming in strong. Earlier in the season i had a grass problem and used Grass Out Max (clethodim) and that did a fantastic job with no crop injury. Now the broadleaf is a problem. I have done some...

    Throw N Mow thread...

Historically the first frost hits us around Sept 25. I decided to do some strip planting for the oats. Gonna disc in the buckwheat for a 2nd crop and then terminate some good strips of it to put the oats in sometime late Aug

As long as you get good seed to soil contact and some rain you should be good. Rolling it will help press the seed into the ground.

    Clover, Brassicas and Mowing

BOGUS...Good choice of words :) I agree as well. There's no way I am putting any grasses in my clover plots. I spray Cleth to get rid of it. When I read that I thought "Typical salesperson..they prolly have a ton on hand and need to move it"

Last year I planted the the loggers trail mix and added some additional inoculated Ladino clover and it did really well. I did add some phosphorus and potassium to my trails and very lightly disc'd in before I planted Sent from my iPhone using Deer Hunter Forum

    Clover, Brassicas and Mowing

I purchase some of my seed from Deer Creek and asked them the same question. This is the response. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mowing an adequately dense & established clover plot (or clover/grass) 2 times/year is a very good management tool to keep the foliage regrowing and a younger, lusher...

    Clover, Brassicas and Mowing

I have a few bare spots and planned to create a few strips of chicory, i agree otherwise it would be a waste, also with this method i can mow around the chicory. I only mow if the broadleaf gets to tall. The grass is well controlled with cleth Sent from my iPhone using Deer Hunter Forum
