Fertilizing Japanese Honeysuckle

The deer and rabbits are really starting to eat Japanese honeysuckle around here. I have never fertilized it but I have heard of people doing it. For you guys that have fertilized it does it make it more palatable or just add more foliage?

Just thought i would chime in as i have not an answer to your specific question. I see no reason to fertilize jap honeysuckle unless you are trying to grow it in some very, very poor soil.
The stuff is already on steroids, and with the value it brings as a winter food, i dont think deer will turn it down unfertilized. ;)

I have a Japanese honeysuckle patch that I use to fertilize when fertilizer was cheap. I used straight nitrogen. 34-0-0.
