Will Build a Walk in Cooler for Nuts & DCO Growing

No problem. The water should already have a drain exit, ours did at least. Just run it for a while and see where it comes out. Also, with the low head room, the LED makes it nice when you accidentally touch the bulb and don't burn yourself!

Will Build a Walk in Cooler for Nuts & DCO Growing

Two suggestions, first, be prepared for the condensation that will come from the back of the air conditioner. We just put a 5 gallon bucket under ours and drain outside as needed. Also, I suggest using an LED or similar light bulb inside the room, as you will want something that does not put off...

No doubt you will have plenty of AC for that size. That is smaller than ours and we have a 10K BTU unit as well. Even with 5 very large fresh deer (i.e. still warm) the cooler drops and holds temperatures very well.

Will Build a Walk in Cooler for Nuts & DCO Growing

Dennis, sorry I missed your question earlier. I wouldn't be a good person to ask this, because we had most all materials on hand before the build as my family is in the construction business. Only things we purchased were the coolbot, a box of screws, and a few cans of expanding foam insulation...

    J-birds place

How old was the stand, and had it remained in the field during the off season? I have a couple stands that are getting to be a few years old so I am starting to get concerned, though I do pull them in the off season.

    ladder stand

I'll be the third to say the Field and Stream Outpost 17's from Dicks are great. Have three of them. They are light sitting in a recliner.

Thanks for the info, but these animals were killed early season in temps close to 100 degrees, so we were trying to get them cooled down as quickly as possible. We were also concerned about any bugs that might be in their hair because the temp was still warm.

We initially put the controller on the inside, but quickly realized we had to open the door to monitor the temp. So we moved the controller outside and just ran the wires beside the air conditioner inside the room. Yes, we have 6 inches of insulation, plus two layers of blandex on the walls, and...

Here are a couple pictures of ours. You can see we didn't insulate the floor, it's just the concrete floor.

Will Build a Walk in Cooler for Nuts & DCO Growing

Just finished building our own walk in cooler for hanging deer. So far have had a doe, 3 bucks, and 2 hogs go through our cooler. It was definitely a great investment. Ours is 3'x5' with 3 layers of 2" thick fiberglass backed foam insulation and then blandex on the inside and outside. ceiling is...

What was your most unique deer hunting stand

We moved an old school bus in and pulled the motor and put it on blocks. Then we bolted a tripod stand to the top of the bus. Talk about nose bleed when you are in it, but you can see a long way.

    Another Treestand Deal

They've been around for a couple years now. I have a few, usually get them on clearance. Definitely a comfortable stand, I add an extra strap under the platform and around the tree and that makes it rock solid.
