I tried it with carbon shafts and a 1/32" cut off wheel from Zoro. If I held the cut-off end while finishing the cut so it didn't whip around, I got a fairly smooth result. I pushed the cut shaft gently against the side of the wheel and got a very satisfactory result.

Very nice. Do you rotate the shaft as you cut, or lock it down and cut through with one stroke? Ken C
