So I ordered a couple grafted female persimmon trees from blue hill nursery, they are planted and only 18” tall and leafed out, How many years will it be until I can expect persimmons? Can I transplant them to a better location this fall after they go dormant?

Good question. They range from 6" in diameter to 20-24" for the biggest ones. I would guess most are 10-12".

I waited until march/April to girdle and spray 1/3 garlon4 & 2/3 diesel fuel mix on my maples. Well the sap was running by then and I got very little success killing them. Do I even need to girdle them and spray this mix or could I just spray the bottom 3 feet of the tree now (december) to...

I have a newly constructed pond dam I want to plant in cool season grasses to help with erosion control and allow me to mow a couple times a year. Any suggestions as to what type? I am trying to avoid deer food so it doesn't end up competing with my foodplots nearby.

I would assume I need to kill off all the cool season pasture grass. I don't have much equipment other than a sprayer and mid size tractor. This is not flat or steep ground, but more rolling I would call it.

I was curious what everyone would do to plant bedding cover in old pasture ground that is currently short cold season grasses with zero cover. Assuming a guy didn't want to plant warm season grasses like switchgrass, what type of species would grow up and be great bedding cover for big bucks...
