Does this young oak look okay?

Years ago I planted some bareroot jujube trees. They had been in the ground a couple years. One of them got a little wind drift overspray. It didn't kill it but set it back. It seemed fine the next year. 10 years down the road, the other trees are 20' tall and as thick as my arm. The one...

    Chestnut Production?

They don't. Think about how many nuts a mature tree produces every year. Very, Very, few of those nuts every turn into trees. When I was growing chestnuts, most years, about 75% of the nuts I started with made it to a 3 gal RB2 container. Some would not germinate. Some would get some kind...

    Chestnut Production?

It does take a while to get on to it. It can be frustrating but it can be fun. I had great success the first year I tried it and had a big failure the second year. It has a fairly steep learning curve, but once you get it down, it is worth it.

    Chestnut Production?

Yes, damp-off can happen indoors too with improper watering. They don't like wet feet. When I water chestnuts, I saturate them until water is running out of the lower holes of the 18s. Once saturated, I pick them up to get a feel for weight. I consider that weight a "full tank. I then don't...

    Chestnut Production?

It isn't normal for me, but I grew mine indoors under lights and controlled conditions until they filled 18s. @mattpatt can probably give you an idea of what is normal for growing outdoors.

    Laser Ranging Scope

When I was googling for more info on the Eliminator 6 Burris Connect app details, I found this: Refurbished Older Model Eliminators. I figured I'd post the link in case anyone is interested in the older models. My research into the Eliminator caused me to steer away from the older models, but...

    Laser Ranging Scope

That makes sense. There was no shortage of reported issues with the older models.

    New hunter

In many states, but certainly not all, baiting is illegal. Many consider it unethical, but that is a personal decision you will need to make. Next, concentrated food sources cause more face to face contact than deer naturally have and some diseases can have increased transmission. In...

    Laser Ranging Scope

I would think they have. I went back and looked at old youtube videos. The Eliminator III was debuted at the 2014 Shot show. That was 10 years ago and they are now up the the Eliminator 6. That is plenty of renditions to work out the kinks.

    New hunter

First, I don't know where you are located, but I'd get rid of the feeder. Next, I'd contact your state wildlife agency. I'm a Hunter Education instructor in Virginia. In the last 10 years, our state has transitioned from all in-person classes to permitting on-line training only. In person...

    Laser Ranging Scope

Yes, I hope so too. I know I'm taking a chance on it. I've had the OracleX since 2021 and it has performed flawlessly. That makes me think they have worked the bugs out of the electronics and display portion. I think my biggest concern is how the shock and vibration will be tolerated. I...

    Laser Ranging Scope

A few years ago, I got an Burris OracleX laser ranging scope for my Mission Sub-One Lite crossbow. I've really come to love it. For bowhunting, it eliminates a lot of movement and is very easy to use. It virtually eliminates my ranging error. It accounts for elevation. At the push of a...

    Undecided, but leaning !😁

You should be fine. All the seed you mentioned except for the sunflowers will do well with this method. At my place sunflowers want to be planted a little deeper. I don't know if that is unique to my soil and seed predation factors or not.
