This year, I sprayed waited 3 weeks and the grass was all laid over and it was thick too. I spread my seed into it anyway and then pulled back the thatch and lo and behold most seed made it to the soil. The rains came and washed the rest of the seed to the soil. I didn't bushhog or drag it and...
I use a 50' roll of chain link fence to use as a drag when I need it. The roll works well because the footprint has more weight than if you unrolled it. Don't use much anymore because I don't disc anymore. Throw and mow is where its at.
If you decide to spray it, do it early during the spring while weeds and grasses are young and before they seed out. I never cut clover or spray it when it's stressed from heat or lack of moisture.
Keep the ph right and use gly at 1.25qts /acre. Only do this on mature clover the next spring after it was planted the previous fall. I've used it like this and it works well, you get a good kill on most all weeds and grasses, but it wont kill the perennial clover. At some point you will have to...
Mine are looking real good, i'll try and take some pictures. I have quite a few that are sending up more than one trunk, some are 3 or more. Should i just leave them alone for now? I'll try and post pictures tom.
Wayne, i have some in 15 gallon containers that i put 2 chestnuts in and both sprouted. I'll transplant one of those to another pot. Do you think the remaining seedling would last until fall in a container that large? I have 3,7,and 15 gallon containers.
Hey Wayne, been away for awhile. I had good succes with direct seeding into my pots. I have several that looks to have 2 trunks coming up from one nut. What should i do, clip one off? When is the best time to transplant a seedling from one pot to another?
Been awhile since i've used chicory, so i remember what size the seed is, but i think its small like clover. If so it should work fine with adequate moisture.
I planted using the throw and mow method back in September and basically it never rained until last night. Over 60 days without rain. I top sewed some additional cereal rye and wheat into my thatch Sunday. With it almost being December, what fertilizer would you recommend for optimum growth...
Go cheaper with the gun, but don't skimp on your scope and scope mounts. Any of those calibers will be fine, maybe your friends can let you shoot some of their guns so you can decide instead of letting someone else decide. Your only as good as you optics. Along with quality mounts they are the...
It rained 1 time for about 15 minutes here since the first of September. Its as bad as i've ever seen and i'm 53 years old. With it being in the mid to upper 80's only makes it worse. I've given up on it ever raining again.
Piss is ammonia, and smells that way. It doesn't smell like a human and it has been proven in studies, along with 40 years of observation to not bother deer. I still want to know, who pisses on the deer?
