"Whitetail Hollow" - 90 Acres NE Oklahoma.

Thanks for the reply Okie! Gives me some things to think about...

Here is an outline of my access...not ideal but it is what it is...our home is near the blue dot. I cross the road and take either yellow path around the south plot and then it’s right through the middle...I keep these trails and some others completely raked and access is absolutely silent...for an added bonus where that yellow mark is is where almost every mature buck we have killed has been taken....almost...

Do you take the path around that center food plot based on wind direction, then catch them (leaving at daylight) on their way back to bedding?

I could draw the same X on our farm if we are talking rut hunting. I would guess most properties have a spot like this. The tricky part is finding it and hunting it undetected.

Here is a limpy 9 point on that trail this morning. I captured a still from a little video I did. 5 does came down it just ahead of him.

Well...my target hasn’t been out in daylight since that December 1st photo even though we have had some very cold weather and the biggest snow we have had in many years. He is out all night though and I must assume someone hunting the property he came off of moved him...I happened to look out the back window in time to see 4 nice bucks leaving our back yard...wish I had looked out sooner so I could get a picture. I started getting a lot of calls for dozer work and it has really picked up recently. A guy contacted me a few weeks back about making a road down into his property and clearing an area for a future house so I got on that a couple weeks back.

The guy bought a 900 lb pipe for a tin horn that I went and picked up for him...

I chained it to a tree and drove out from under it...

After it dried up a bit I went back and installed...

I had cleared the adjoining property a few months ago for his neighbor of Cedar where he wanted his home and had a large Cedar tree pile I had been awaiting a rain to turn it and since I had my equipment there I decided it was time to burn it...even though it was raining and everything was soaked the pile went up like tinder!

Great looking bunch of deer Johnny. Is it common in your area to see bucks running together at this time of year?

Yessir. I know what everyone is always saying about the rut here in Ok but my experience is that they rut starting last week in October and by 3rd week in November pretty well done...at least in our corner of the state. Bachelor groups start forming back up by first couple weeks of December and then everything is about food!

Sounds a lot like my area. We had around 2 inches of snow today so I’m expecting lots of plot use when I check cams again.
