Like your photo dump Okie. Particularly the NM pic with the bandaged up hand. Travel all over the country but only once have I traveled to NM. While there, visited one of the most obscure national parks in the country - Chaco Canyon. Cool place off the beaten path.

We drove all the way through the Navajo nation. Gallup was completely shutdown due to Covid with police blocks at every entrance. We ended up in a place called Polacca Arizona which is the Hopi tribe reservation. All told 3500 miles I drove. 60 hours driving time...my wife chose to not take the job after realizing housing was 13 miles from the hospital and our phones wouldn’t work and they had no internet at all...worked out well though because she was paid to do the site visit and the job she has always dreamed of came out and she has applied for it with a really good shot at getting it. Quality Director at Aberdeen SD Area Office for IHS...this job will allow her to get home a lot more often and gets her out of the actual Hospital...pays really well also :)

Nothing like a road trip especially when getting paid for it. Was the traffic low due to the shutdown. It has been here until this past wk and with reopening its been like ants coming out after a rain.
Of your trip what was your favorite and least favorite places?

Don’t know how I missed this...Favorite place would be the mountains we drove through in New Mexico, pretty streams, beautiful rock formations and pines everywhere but that’s only because we didn’t drive through a lot of South Dakota to get there. My absolute favorite places are in Western SD all around the black hills region. My least favorite place was Eastern Colorado...I never want to drive that road again! Long, flat, treeless and in some vehicles you need to carry extra jugs of gas to make it between gas stations!

I am in SD again as this weekend was our 21 year anniversary and my wife’s Birthday. We took a little day trip yesterday and we fished SD for the first time on a little lake called Center Lake inside Custer State Park...watched an Osprey fish and be successful and I even caught a couple small Brook Trout...extremely relaxing and pleasant!

You got married ON your wife's birthday? That's either incredibly smart, or incredibly not smart... (haven't decided yet). Congrats and happy birthday to the young lady!

If you don't like eastern CO I'm guessing you've never driven highway 50 through Nevada. Better fill up at EVERY gas station and never pass up a hotel thinking you'll find another in a couple hours, because you won't. Driving past a hotel at 10:00pm means driving until 3:00am.

We got married the day before her birthday and she picked the date...as do all women...my only input was not during deer or turkey season which left an 8 month time frame Lol.

I will take your word on Nevada and hope I never have to drive through there. We took the Kit Carson trail in eastern Colorado and I never want to see that road again!!! We drove our Honda Civic that gets nearly 40 mpg and holds 10 gallons and I thought we were going to run out of gas!

What a great tour Okie!! I've been sharing this with some folks from Eastern Oklahoma, showing them what they can do with a lot of hard work and some patience.

Been a while since I have updated...been doing a lot of dozer work for folks, clearing land, building pads, roads, etc...I was working on a place last week that someone had select cut a few large oak trees on about 2 years ago. The issue with that was every little bit you would come upon a big stump about 6-8” tall in the very thick undergrowth. I got to work on the dozer twice due to stumps and once due to a bearing going out. I lost a blade control hydraulic hose by hitting a stump, I also blew out a track adjuster by hitting a stump with a track. 1 of the front idler wheels lost a bearing so I got to learn removing and reinstalling a track...

People are always talking about Kansas, when I see your tour it makes me think they should be talking about Oklahoma! You have some great bucks running around. Especially that 8!
Looks like that dozer gave you quite the workout too.
