"Whitetail Hollow" - 90 Acres NE Oklahoma.

First time I saw Illinois corn, one stalk growing right next to the other, I was amazed. To this day it causes me to plant my garden stuff too close together.
Meanwhile, back at home, you need to open a ZOO. Somewhere on forum are some hog trap builds. Good luck. Killing the bad boy just opened the door for the herd (aka sounder for some reason) to take over. Now you must get them!
I am convinced the hogs were responsible for our decrease in turkey population. With hogs gone, I hope, we have been seeing flocks up to 20 young turklets (or whatever you call them)

They plant corn and crosses. Soon you will see the fields of planted wind turbines. Swing south out of Oho and I'll buy you a steak and lobster. Have fun.

In Indiana now...think we are gonna stop for the night in Indianapolis and finish our journey in the morning...we rented a Dodge Grand Caravan and it is really a nice ride...comfy and 27.6 MPG right now...not terrible for its size...

They plant pretty much everything plantable up here...outside our hotel window...

That's money you see! Sorry I wasn't able to catch up with you. Depending on where you are heading your likely to see lots more corn and beans in IN!

Welcome to the corn belt my friend!

It's so bad.....there is a theme park in IN and their "jingle" is, "There is more than corn in Indiana!".......Ummmmm, not so much! You want to see trees and hills, in general you need to be south of I-70 between Terre Haute and Indy and south of I-74 between Indy and Cincinnati......otherwise......get used to seeing corn and soybeans!

My gosh...I am in a little town just south of Sandusky called Milan and there are literally rows of corn and beans between the houses in the suburban neighborhoods...unreal. I keep singing “Corn, Corn, everywhere Corn to the tune of the old song about signs... outside our hotel window...

went to a store called “Fin, Feather, Fur Company” and it is amazing like a mini bass pro/cabelas deal. Finally got some cable anchors for my traps and some subsonic long rifle ammo and some 22 shorts...

Checked out a Menards store and those things are awesome. Little bit of everything.

Good to hear Ohio is treating you good since there's a lot of us are in shock/angry about are Buckeye coach. Sports can give you a kick in the n**s every once in awhile.

Don’t know anything about any “ball” sports. Wouldn’t walk across the road to watch any of them other than watching my grandsons play soccer....motor sports are my deal...

Btw -what did the coach do?

He's being investigated for not reporting one of his assistant coaches for domestic violence.

I warned you about the corn and soybeans! Your in the midwest now...."Ball" sports is about all we know....college level football and basketball in particular.

Here is the run down for surviving on the road in the midwest......
In OH..."Go Buckeyes"
In IN..."Go Hoosiers" (southern IN) / "Go Boilers" (central IN) / "Go Irish" (northern IN)
In KY..."Go Wildcats"
In IL..."Go Illini"

This info could save your life....or if said in the improper location potentially get you into a scuffle! Just kidding...but you will get a look like you must be out of your mind! That should get you at least to the Mississippi river....your on your own from that point on!

Be safe and enjoy!

Are there any rocks in illinois, Indiana, or Ohio? I never saw any from a road...every pond along the turnpike has its own little cabin on it...

Yes.....and no. Turns out a glacier will turn "rocks" into little bitty pieces.....called SOIL! You want "rocks" you gotta get closer to the river my friend. Like was mentioned.....take I-64 across southern IN....much prettier.....if your wanting trees and hills and the like.

The corn pictures remind me of southern Nebraska. I’ve hunted turkeys near the Kansas border and every square foot of plantable ground has corn. Crazy looking landscape.

Dogs are my main offender as well. Not much I can do about it living 4500 miles away but I’ll be as creative as necessary to solve that problem when we move.

Property looks great! You guys have some beautiful deer in that area. They make my NC mountain deer look like babies!
