What tree is this from? It was picked off a tree in Arkansas by a friend.

That's made by a Gall Wasp, and generally done on oak trees.

Wait, it's not Ohio Buckeye is it, because when opened the inside was like cotton type fibers? I have only seen the pic and heard the description.

I'm told the inside had seeds on stems like a dandelion. There was no nut inside and it's not a gall.

Yes, it's a Gall like I said. That's what the galls have inside. Look at these pics:

I've seen a few that big.

I think those are done by Trump Gall Wasp.
