Warm Hunting Gloves Without The Bulk?

I’m in the market for a pair of hunting gloves that are very thin but warm for temps ranging from 28-40 degrees that are not bulky and that you can feel the trigger well. I don’t like having to pull of a glove to feel the trigger while in a stand. These gloves will be used for bow and gun hunting. I don’t need or want the ones that have the text finger tip as they feel awkward to me. What do you guys recommend?

I used to always wear gloves to hunt but I've been getting away from it more and more, like Ben said, I like my hands free. I have one of these mufflers that I use when it gets really cold, such as hunting in Canada. At first it seemed awkward, but after I got used to it I missed it when I used gloves instead.

Another vote for muffs.

I usually don’t wear gloves, but if it’s cold I wear a very thin pair of UA gloves. I also throw a hand warmer or two in the muff on the colder days.

Another vote for Sitka apparel with built in muffs - Just add a hand warmer if it really dips in temp to keep the shooting hand comfortable. My non shooting hand I'll keep a mitten with a hand warmer to cradle my rifle.

Sitka!!!!! I have an endless search for gloves. My hands are what sends me to the house. It used to be my hands and feet. The feet have been fixed and the hands are getting better. Sitka liner gloves and hand warmers!!!

dang all the sitka lovers, i'm going to be outnumbered!....i switched to first lite few years ago never go back. Same deal all the late season gear has muff built into jacket. I have their Touch Lite glove perfect for having very thin pair to go in and out of muff and perfect for early season and have the built in touch fingers for your phone.

That is the one down fall of my sitka gloves, can't use my phone but I do my best to just leave the damn thing in my pocket. If I wanted to be on my phone, I would sit on the couch!!!!

I agree i stay off it if i can not sitting there playing games, but still when buddies texting you all day long what you seeing. Nice to not have to take gloves off in the cold and text

Look up the G-Tech hand warmer. It has a heating element in it that is charged similar to a phone. It also has 3 settings so you dont burn your hands up when its not too hot. My buddy has one and swears by it.

Got all kind of gloves. Only pair I've worn for past 5 years are the super think Cabela's brand about the thickness of a polyester sock liner. In full disclosure we don't get many sub freezing mornings here in the south but even when it drops down in the 20s, I just throw a disposable hand warmer in each pocket and I'm good to go. Same for the boots...big fan of the air-activated toe warmers on the top of my socks over my toes. Not sure how I would feel if hunting in the teens up north.

Well not to offend anyone but I’m not getting no muff. It looks to much like a Man Purse and that’s not going to happen!!!! I like gloves but don’t need or like the texting finger so the ones with texting finger are out too.

Looks like I’ll have the look into the high dollar brands and see if I can find something I like. I’ve used the hand warmers also but like my hands to be free from the pockets as well.

I may be to picky but I’ll eventually find what I’m looking for.

I've has good luck with the Manzella brand gloves. Had everything from lightweight turkey hunting gloves, to mitts. I've had several of them for over 10 years, so they seem to hold u[p. But I also like the hand muff... o_O

If you are dead set on gloves, I would strongly recommend Hestra. My ski gloves are Hestra Heli’s and they have kept my hands warm in temps around 0 for many many years. They also have many different liners that you can put in them. I’ll buy another pair just like them if I ever wear mine out.

Well I am offended as you just made fun of my man purse/muff!! Which I do like. You can wear a light weight glove and keep hand warmer in the “man purse”. Toasty.
But since you don’t want that I have a pair of Cabelas extreme mittens. They are a wool/ thinsulate w a hand warmer pocket. You can wear thin glove w these over and they have slit to release fingers thru for bow or gun. I shot a nice 12 in Saskatchewan at 25 below wearing them so I know they work. Overkill for AR I suppose but they do the job.
Now where is my man bag?? , I need meet the boys at the bar!!

I am in search of gloves all the time. Like I said my hands and feet are what forced me out of the woods many a time. 15 years ago I figured out the feet, 8 years ago I figured out the hands. But that doesn't stop me from continuing my search for warmer and better. First are my Sitka gloves!!!! But a close second right now is the manzella gloves I found on discount last year. Low bulk, warm enough with hand warmers and yes they have a "touch" fingers for you phone junkies. These have been a back up pair in my bag in case my sitkas get wet. Well last night was the coldest night this season 20 degrees and windy and sat for 5 hours. These gloves did the trick with no hand warmers.

Don’t mean to hijack, but what did you figure out for your feet? That’s the only thing that ever gets cold on me.

Cabelas 2000 gram boots and two toe warmers per foot. The trick is to put the warmers on top of your foot, not on the bottom. No room for circulation on the bottom of you boot but you have "head" space above your foot. The other thing is I don't tuck my pants in my boots anymore. It allows the heat from inside you boots to escape up your leg and your feet will not sweat as much! I also put my boots on the dryer every night so they are DRY the next day.

I found out the hard way for putting those warmers on the bottom of my foot, after a long day of driving deer and a lot of walking my foot was hurting pretty bad but your deer hunting so it can't be that bad, end of the day took my boots off and I had burned a hole in my foot. Some how the warmer broke and the magnesium powder stuff burnt a hole in my foot!!!! When the air hit it, you talk about pain. Never again

Sorry Deer Patch off topic but semi related

LMAO!! I’d say that would be overkill. Lowest temps around here is around 5 degrees but with global warming you never know.
