Obligatory buck pics. Haven’t seen this guy since December. Longer points/beams but light mass. Although it’s hard to see here, this is a large bodied deer.

With this warm weather, the mature deer have been nocturnal. Suppose to get 3” of rain tomorrow into Monday followed by a significant drop in temps. Gonna pop loose soon....

Three more days maybe of waiting and watching here and then it may be time to ease in around the edges at least. The cameras are showing a lot of chasing by young deer during the day but like you, big ones are still mostly moving in the dark. Will do a mid day card pull tomorrow in the rain if it doesn't get too muddy.

The rut is picking up but the full moon and high winds are making things tough. I haven’t checked the majority of our cams in a while as I’m trying to stay off the mountain. Bears are back in the corn regularly. I’m hoping we get an opportunity to thin the numbers.
