trail cam acting weird

I can't post a video, but my trail cam is acting weird. I have it set on video and it seems to be pulsating in the intensity level of the IR "flash". It pulsates like every second for the duration of the video. But then in some videos it doesn't do it at all.

These pics below are from the same video file. I just paused it and took a screen shot to show the differences in the intensity.

The cam is mounted low (like 2 feet off the ground), which I had never done before. I am not thinking this would impact it, as it does it in some videos from the same pull and not others, but I have no idea.

Any idea why it's doing this?

I had a cam set up last week that had a branch really close to it. The night pics had the branch really bright and everything in the background dingy. Maybe your cam is making some sort of adjustment based on something too close. Otherwise; format sd card and change batteries.

Tough one. Video complicates things. What's the duration of the video? PIR, right? Red glow? AA batteries? Lithium or alkaline? Standard SD card or High Speed?
Do you use the same SD card in the camera or do you switch and/or rotate. Do you format the card in the trail cam before you activate the camera when switching or using a new card?

Regular AA batteries I think the videos are 5 seconds...maybe 10. Standard SD card. I use the same card but do not reformat.

I think I will start with a fresh set of batteries and a new/reformatted SD card and see if that helps.

J-bird your trailcam has auto flash adjustment on it. It adjusts the amount of flash needed as to not white out the video. My Bushnell does it in video mode. It will be really bright when the video 1st starts and then adjusts the amount of light needed to give you a good video. Once my Bushnell adjusts it stays at that level. Sounds like yours keeps on adjusting. Check to see if your camera has a firmware update. It may solve your problem. Also those tall weeds in front of cam may be causing it to adjust lighting.
