Too many bucks?

Is there such a problem? I've got 53 acres. I'm seeing at least 10 different bucks this summer. Possibly 2 shooters. Didn't realize there was that many. Not really sure on the doe #'s. Thoughts?

I don't think you can have too many. However those 10 bucks you see now may be more like 2-3 by the time hunting season rolls around.

What he said. The only downsides to having a bunch of bucks is that the youngesters don't have holes to fill and the bucks are going to beat each other to snot....So, kill the mature ones if you can :D

The way I see it is too many bucks = fun rut hunting. Try to pick out an old one that still has some tines left on him though. Don't be surprised if some of these bucks disperse after velvet shed and possibly a few different ones show up.

Last year most of them dispersed.I did pass on quite a few last year however.(One respectable 8) Neighbor killed a bruiser that had been on my place all summer. It's obvious that a couple are his offspring. I didn't realize that there was that many different ones till lately though.Very fortunate to be surrounded by great neighbors and it's starting to get interesting!
