Summer....

Hot weather doesnt bother me as much as it used to. Been 95 here already and always humid. We have to have some heat or it would never dry out. Still cant access half my land because of water.

And the tropical storm coming right over the top of us on Monday.

In the summer I still do plenty, but it takes me sooooo long to hype myself up enough to get started.

Down south, seems we have a prolonged, distinct end to 3 of the 4 seasons. The exception anymore seems to be Spring. Seems like we go from winter to summer overnight down here anymore. Humidity is already set in. And it's still early June. 90's in and out of the forecast for the next 10 days. By August, we're just begging for Fall to arrive. But anymore that seems to come in late October. I don't wish time away but I will say that working and doing things around the farm sure slows down from now until late September.

I wouldn't mind the heat if it wasn't so dry, hopefully rain this weekend then I can plant beans and milo
I've been waiting to put in summer plots for quite a while. Some rain this weekend would be great!

I’d love to see some rain as well, it doesn’t take long for me to start missing it. There was a doe found within a mile of our home this weekend that was said to have had ehd. We don’t need that getting started around here!

I grew up Mennonite, running joke was, what happens when you take a Mennonite fishing?
They drink all your beer.

what happens when you take two? They won’t drink any!
I saw firsthand a lot that was very true statement. I can tolerate the heat but the humidity kills me. As someone who is outside every day, about February I’m longing for warm weather, about June I can’t wait for fall!

I’m kinda the same way, too much of a good thing I guess. I long for the first 70* days in the tail end of winter, and the first fall breezes out of the North in the fall. I guess that I really only like about four months out of the year !:) Reminds me of my momma saying to us boys, “You would gripe if you were gonna be hung with a new rope”o_O:D

I work in the Oklahoma heat daily on a machine that also makes heat...it’s the dust that’s a killer!
