Finally got back to working on the clearing project I discussed a few post back. Still clearing this old field and it's taking quite a while. Going to start burning this pile soon so we can make room for more trees. Have about 3 acres out of 8 done just going real slow.

Got some brassica in the ground and will spread some fertilizer tomorrow. Chance of rain all this week so didn’t want to miss a chance to get one in the ground.

No new faces on camera lately. Getting close to that time I do start getting some new bucks showing their faces finally. We will see, some of the same bucks finishing up now.

I like these two young bucks. Would like to see them older in 2-3 years.

Mowed some buckwheat today getting ready to try our alfalfa experiment of 2021 soon. Need some more soil prep but we wanted to giver ourselves plenty of time to get it ready so we didn't rush and mess up too badly.

This mature 10pt has an 8pt running buddy that's a pretty buck but appears younger.

This main frame 8pt with a kicker off his left G2 is another youngster I'd love to see make it another couple years. Pretty nice young buck.

It's always either not enough rain or too much rain. We had a pretty dry June and July but since the start of August it's really picked up. I just dumped 1.5" out of my main rain gauge and we have 1-2" more to come this evening into tomorrow. I will take it since I'm trying to stock pile some grass for the cows. Tried to get some of our mess cleaned up by starting a fire but my buddy stayed behind and we will see how it burns.

Finally got a few decent photos of this guy. Some junk on his brow looks cool.

New face here at a new camera I just put up. This pond on the backside of the mountain starts to really pick up this time of year. Only water source around for a little ways.

I think this is the Crabby 8pt from last year. He was 4.5 YO last year and although he's only an 8 and not very wide he's a neat looking buck.

And I finally got some decent photos of this guy as well. Looks like a unicorn point from the side. Neat looking buck.

Went and looked at all the plots I need to get working on. Need to start spraying this weekend so we can do some planting soon. This spot is going to be awesome when we are done with it. Corn, summer mix that will stay since the milo is thick and heading out (sunflowers are popping now), soybeans, alfalfa on the other side of the tree-line and going to put in a Fall mix next weekend hopefully weather permitting.

Here he was last year, he added a couple small g3s. But Dad stuck with the name.

I’ve been busy making hay a doing a little food plotting but haven’t taken any pictures. Some cooler weather and rain in the
forecast for this week. Did finally get a photo of this guy. I’ve seen him a couple times but haven’t been successful in getting trail cam photos of him till now.

I never knew hunting over a bush hogged buckwheat field could be such epic dove hunting. Limited in like 20 minutes and the Mojo had them dancing!
