South Dakota hunting opportunities?

Been here a few days but only got to drive around yesterday due to setting up the new house. Saw well over 100 deer yesterday...whitetails and mule deer. Mostly whitetails here in Rosebud where we are and we have seen them right here in town on the reservation. Driving between a town called Martin and Pine Ridge yesterday almost hit 4 pheasant roosters...antelope all around here as well as elk and have seen several Merriam turkeys...

It’s a freaking zoo out here!!!

I've ridden the harley across all of NE and also north into Valentine heading to Sturgis and beyond. You are right about the game, it sure keeps you puckered riding along at 80 on a 2 track, especially since so much of the west is open range. The softball hailstones are more a concern for me however. Some of the best mulies and whitetail I've seen is further west into WY. Kinda open land, LOL compared to my wooded hills. Enjoy your meanderings.

Timing is everything Okie, when we went through Custer we had to stop for bighorns in the road. Beautiful country up there. Since my bride is originally from ND, I've been through NE many times but mostly throught the eastern part. KS, NE, SD, and ND are all kinda vanilla through the eastern parts, but the western parts are a different world. If it weren't for the winters, and my age, I would like to relocate, but probably to WY. Many good memories there !

The bighorns are all over Custer and down into the Pine Ridge in Nebraska. We see them all the time. Really cool.
