Curious are those floors skip planned?
The cabin came out great, no doubt a lot of work especially with the interior paneling and all those angle cuts.

Enjoy!

Thanks! Sorry but I don't know what skip planned means. Is that the way the wood is cut or sanded?

We finally got our certificate of occupancy for the cabin the first week of November. My dad, brother and my 7 year old son and a few friends spent the weekend of November 9th at the cabin for the first time. We had a great time, cooked some venison sausage, camp stew and beef tenderloin. We didn't have beds yet so we slept on air mattresses. Here are a few pics of the finished product with one exception: the ugly lattice on the loft railing will be removed. We had to do that to get the CO. To top off a great weekend I was able to shoot a nice doe with my 7 year old son in the stand.

Beautiful! I may have missed it... what did you finish the wood on the ceilings with?

The interior is all unfinished cypress except for floors (Polyurethane). The carpenter suggested we put a coat a mineral oil on walls and ceiling but we haven't done it yet.

Thanks. I'm getting ready to put a pine ceiling up and am considering different finishes... yours wouldn't be bad to mimic.

The wood paneling looks great. Really adds to it. My place is fake wood paneling. On my list to do t&g.

My place is set up like a home. You use it more when so. I got crock pot, nesco, anything I use at home.

Now you need a pole barn. What man would live without a garage? Did you keep the old camp to use for a shed or maybe open it up into garage?

We do still have the old shed. It has become a storage room. It's in bad need of cleaning out and organizing. Someone gave me a small walk-in cooler I want to set up there along with a meat processing station. I would love to have a pole barn eventually but for the time being we have a metal shed for the tractor and implements and a shipping container to store UTV and other stuff we need to keep locked up since we aren't at the property full time.

only in the south do you all have a fireplace and only have to have a MR. buddy heater running in it to keep the place warm! HAHA jk with ya!

Place looks fantastic!
