I joined the Tikka club with Native Hunter. I ended up buying a stainless T3X 22-250. Now I will need to do some scope shopping.
I'm look for suggestions for a scope to put on this soon to be critter slayer. My furthest shooting will probably be in the 500yd range.
I am leaning towards a Leupold VX3i 4.5-14×50 with varmint reticle. Nikon Black X1000 has caught my eye but has not been released yet.
Any suggestions/insight will be appreciated.

I did a tikka t3 stainless .223 this year and put a vortec viper hs 4-16x44 bdc scope on vortec precision match rings, so far I love it.

Welcome to the CULT...er, I mean brotherhood....:D

I like 40-44mm over a 50mm, so that it allows the scope to sit lower on the rifle and the shooter can get a better cheek weld. The only advantage to a 50mm objective is a wider field of view at any distance. Contrary to popular belief, it doesn't allow any more light to enter the scope. Thats what all of the coatings on the lenses are for. For a really nice, affordable scope, I would look at the Nikon Buckmaster II 4-12x40. Then start looking at the Vortex line up as they make some great glass, with one of the best warranties around. Of course, you can't beat a Leupold for quality and clarity. I watched a video the other day on the Burris Predator Quest scope and it looked like a great scope and had a reticle designed to long range coyotes and varmints. I haven't looked through the Burris yet, but if I was in the market, I would have to find one and check it out. I haven't scoped a new rifle in quite a while but, the next time I do, I plan on using DNZ scope mounts. They are as solid as it comes and tend to put the scope reticles almost where they need to be. You still need to bore sight, but it isn't off by to much with the DNZ brand.

I have been using a Nikon Prostaff 4-12x40 on my Savage .204 Ruger and find myself rarely taking it off of 4 power when I shoot something. I keep it on low power in case a coyote or bobcat pops out close and plan on zooming if they are at distance, but I end up just putting the crosshair on them and squeezing the trigger. I forget to increase magnification in the excitement. It has worked so far, but one day it may bite me in the arse.

Thanks Doc. DNZ is one of the mounting options I am looking at. Also been looking at this picatinny rail stuff too.
So many darn options with scopes, rings, mounting systems, etc.

Check out tikka performance, they make a really nice picatanny that i used for my rings as well as a few other aftermarket parts, i changed out a lot of the plastic parts while i was at it and had a custom bolt handle made ect...

I can't really add anything to the scope question but I will second the DNZ mounts. I used them on my Savage 220 slug gun.

The Tikka was a great choice. Put the VX3 on it and you have a home run. The others are good too. But I vote for the gold ring.

As of late, I’ve been happier with Monarchs than the new Leupolds. Having said that, Cabelas has 4x12 VX-2 on a pretty good sale right now. They also have a cabelas branded Meopta 4.5x14 for $449. This is seriously high quality glass. I’ve had a varix3 6.5x20 on my 22-250 for a couple decades. It’s been flawless.

I ended up putting a Leupold VX3i 4.5×14×50(DNZ high mount) with varmint reticle/side focus on it. Did some shooting yesterday with different rounds to get it ready for some yote hunting this winter.
