Sawtooth Oak Acorns........Forgotten

I put some sawtooths in the spare fridge a my parents and forgot about them. Was over there today and pulled them out to look at them. Will they survive till the spring to be planted?IMG_5002.JPG

In my opinion they will for the most part. I think the large majority of them will do great. I would put them right back in that same fridge until I wanted to get them started.

One of the pros of sawtooth - they last a long time. Any time you deal with nature - the weak will not make it. That is why I used the expression "large majority of them."

Good luck with this!

Fish they were actually collected last fall. that's why the title said forgotten. I truly forgot about them for about a year. I have some new ones I picked up this fall that I have put in the fridge. So, if these don't make it I have some back-ups.

Take those that have started and direct seed them. The roots will grow anytime the soil temp is greater then 40 degrees
