Sandy Soil Trees/Shrubs

What good wildlife trees and/or shrubs have grown the best for y'all in really sandy soil. I found a sandy area that needs an upgrade in plants (right now Chinaberry likes it, so I'm hacking and squirting Alot!)
 
Yep, sawtooth is always a great choice! I was hoping something else would go with them. I'll look into the water oak too
 
sand cherry has done well in our sand/gravel pit soils. I can't say if its really a deer shrub but it is good cover. The deer use it for that as well as pheasants and quail.
