Some stuff I did today

So today I painted the logo on the tailgate using the stencil

1st attempt I got a lot of bleeding so I wiped it off and tried again but this time I used magnets to hold the stencil down and it worked good

Something didn't look right to me so I went on walcks site where I got the stencil and in the description it said to tape off the "jeep" for CJs grrr
So out with the lacquer thinner

That's better

Sandblasted and painted the chains and put new covers on

This paint is pretty good for making it look like bare metal

This keeps the spare tire form vibrating and weakening the metal. So simple these things are

Wheels are back from blaster

I painted the back satin black like factory (shiny cuz still wet)

Fronts painted white and backs have some overspray just like factory :)

In case you're wondering

That is a nice touch letting some overspray hit just like factory. It seems you have an eye for detail and it shows in everything you do!

Funny I was thinking as I started down through your latest post, " I wonder how many times he has slipped off a bolt or screw and scratched his paint job?" :)

Started some work on the original grill.. now I remember when this happened. My father was pulling out my brothers stuck van sooo he asked me to hook the chain on something solid lol needless to say he wasn't amused. I find it ironic I'm working on this 38 yrs later to fix it.

So this is what I'm dealing with

20180707_152832-600x800.jpg

This is the donor pc I got

After stripping off all the real bad spots on the donor pc this is what I'm left with

I think I need to re evaluate this. I would have to fabricate most of it.

Shelly has no opinion

So I figured what the heck original cardboard Glove boxes are not reproduced so I Ordered 1/8" waterproof board. Had to buy a minimum of 4 so I have enough to make close to 30 of these to sell. I bought an original on Ebay for a template
