Plum?

Is this a variety of plum? There were about 8 or 10 of these blue 1 -1.5 inch fruits laying in a small area. In doing some searching online it appears to be a mount royal or a blue rock plum. One of them had a greenish-blue hue to it. I'll try to get a pic of the tree next time but I was in a hurry this morning.

Get some more good pictures of the leaves and branches.

Without anything else (and given your east coast location) I'm going to guess for right now that this is not a plum but Prunus spinosa (AKA Blackhorn). It is not native but has been imported in the past and has naturalized in your state.
