I have an orchard of native persimmons on my farm in Mississippi that my grandfather and I planted in 2013, roughly 25 trees and I am adding about 10-15 more to fill the area out. Most of them are getting close to fruiting size. Luckily for me, the small food plot I chose to convert into this particular orchard has many native male persimmons around the edges, so I can convert all my planted trees to grafted females. I am looking for persimmon scions to graft onto these native trees. I would like to have alot of variety in this orchard, especially a long drop period between all the trees. Several of you, dogdoc and Fish, and were nice enough to share some of their scions with me that I grafted in April (thanks again, guys), and for reasons that I absolutely cannot understand, I lost all 6 grafts. The trees resprouted around the failed graft and are thriving, so I plan to regraft those this spring, plus a few more. If any of you has a unique persimmon (late drop, big fruit, heavy producer, etc) that you collect scions from and want to share, I would really love it if you would send me some wood. I am happy to pay for the scions and shipping. Just let me know.
