Pawnee Paper Shell Pecans

Not really hunting related but thought I'd show off some of our Pawnee pecan trees that were all grown from native root stock then grafted with scion wood from a Pawnee paper shell tree. Pawnee are known for their large size and kernel to hull ratio.

cool--I grafted several trees to pawnee 3 years ago. I ordered the scions from a local orchard. Only had 3 trees take but had much better success this year using the neighbors pecan tree. However, I don't know the variety of the neighbors but it throws some large paper shell pecans.

Where ya at Matt? I'm not even close to shuck split. Still probably 3 weeks at least.

Good looking crop, minimal scab pressure. Mine are hit or miss but all my Pawnee have some level of scab even with spraying multiple rounds of fungicide.

I'm up around Paris, TX. My trees have never been sprayed for scab or really anything for that matter. Guess I've been lucky.

Shucks are starting to split here 2-3 weeks and I'll be shaking the heck out of some trees.
