Official 2016-17 NCAA Basketball thread

Anyone watch b-ball last night?

UConn girls got challenged (sort of).
#4 vs #8 girls went into double overtime.
And KU men scored 21 pts in less than 2.5 minutes to put an out of reach game into overtime.

Awesome night!

It wasn't an awesome night if you are a Syracuse fan like myself. They're almost back to a .500 record where they belong unfortunately.

Just raggin you Cat. That field house obviously tough to win in. Anyone who has coached Bball know that best way to beat a pressing team is to press them back. Kansas was cold at start and we went cold at end. Kansas really plays defense much like WV, a in you face like glue non stop. WV prob has a deeper bench for sticky play which lends to fouls. We did shut down a certain someone completely except his trips to foul line, and I'll stop there about that. Great game but wished it had started earlier, well past my bedtime on finish. Guess another year neither of us can pull a win out at the others home.
Wasn't really surprised at Baylor loss since I think they are very beatable if played correctly. March is around the corner.
 
March is a scary time for the Big 12! We don't always excel that time of yr. I fear the Bucknell's and WSU's of the world during that time.

WV beat KU for 38 minutes of that game. As a KU fan I cuss them when they play bad or lazy, but to be honest I'm spoiled. They win a lot! Nothing wrong with shutting someone down. It's good planning but the effort to shut down one usually gives another an opportunity...

Baylor is over ranked in my opinion, Iowa St. and KSU underranked... WV probably right where they need to be.
 
Yea if one thing I don't like about the Big 12, is it is like the Big East we were in. Beat up on each other all season then in March, the striped guys are calling every touch foul and its hard to dial back. No reason except maybe their bench depth that Kansas can't go to the end. I personally think you just saw the championship game a few weeks early. But with Bball, you just never know who might get hot those couple weeks.

We've done pretty good w/ IU's leftovers so I can't complain too much. But a lot of the guys we got from Illinois were plan B's.

I 100% agree. He keeps no control of his team. Runs a stupid 4 out 1 In offense that gets no movement to the basket. You are correct my son and I were just talking about Jordan the other day curious as to why he has disappeared this season. I didn't know if it was for disciplinary reasons or what the deal was. The biggest problem with Groce is he does not control his players, too much one on one crap like the NBA and also the reason I do not watch NBA basketball.

What is March Madness :) Is that the time of year I always hope that Illini some how make it into the NIT but don't ever deserve that either.

The one that got me was the 4 overtime game yall had with bama. I had it on waiting to watch our game with vandy, which turned out to be no game at all, and knew yall had it won multiple times only to end up losing.
Take comfort though, I'm sure the gamecocks will go farther than us if we go at all.

My Gamecocks need to remember how to shoot and Silva has an issue staying out of foul trouble. Dozier has not recovered his shot since he had back issues earlier this year.
