Nitro radish / WR ratio

Hi all, I'm sure its been discussed but admittingly I haven't mastered how to search very fluently. What is the ratio of nitro radish and winter rye everyone plants in newly formed food plots?

Brassica typically 2-6#/ac. Lighter amounts perform better or tubular growth. Grains 50-100#/ac. You might want to read the LC threads to get some good basic info. Good luck.

just a thought but WR should not be planted at same time as raddish.....looks like you are IL so comparable to me here, but late july/early aug is raddish planting time, WR usually is end of august, maybe early sept planting. planting WR at same time as Raddish going to end up with WR that is matured out before season even opens up and a stunted raddish plot from WR sucking growth out of the plot.

I usually plant WR around Labor Day in zone 6B, but if someone is in an area that's prone to fall dry spells I'd plant the WR a little bit earlier to drought proof the crop.
I get the best results planting radishes at 10 lb per acre and then intersseeding 200 lb per acre of rye several weeks later. Planting rates differ greatly if the soil is poor vs fertile, if the seedbed is tilled and loose vs hard or compacted with weeds. Interseeding rye later is often in less than ideal conditions, that's why I prefer the heavier 200 lb per acre rate.
