The major thing I have found between the cheaper cameras I have and the newer cameras I got this year is battery life and trigger sensitivity. I have an older cuddeback, wild game, moultrie and browning and none of them compare to the Exodus cameras. Like I stated earlier I put these out in June and most have been taking 1000-2000 pictures every week to 10 days. All cameras but one are still at 95% on battery life and the one odd ball is at 45% but earlier in the year it was taking over 2000 pictures a week.

Battery life was just one of those things I never really thought about until I saw what better quality cameras get out of battery life. The money I saved by buying cheaper cameras was wasted in batteries in a years time. I am convinced that I will only have to change out batteries twice a year on food sources and probably just once a year in the timber where i will have less traffic. Also, I do have lithiums in one camera so that I can do a test to see if the battery life is enough to offset the cost of lithium batteries compared to alkaline.

Where do you find the cheapest battery prices at and what kind of batteries do you use?

I have been using duracell. I ordered online I believe was called medic battery and was around $220 for 1000 if I remember correctly

That sounds like a good price but it'd take me awhile to use 1000 of them I only run 4 or 5 cameras every year.

They have smaller lot amounts as well just more than .22 a battery

I've owned 2 - cuddebacks, total garbage. My newer cuddeback I retired in six months, not worth my time.

Wild game scam the nation is one of the most horrible cams I've ever been around. A buddy of mine experienced major heartbreak when he bought four of them.

My moulties have had superior battery life and reliability.

I have to say out of my other cameras I would agree with you. The Moultrie are better than either of the others but not as good as the new ones I have. I have never liked the Cudde or wild games

The Browning, and Bushnell cameras get my vote.

As far as batteries go; I've made the switch to quality rechargeable batteries like the Sanyo triple X low discharge, or the Amazon basics batteries. All rechargeable batteries are not created equal. I've saved a TON of money by using the quality rechargeable batteries, and unless I'm getting video on my camera, one set will make it most of the year on one charge.

Spartan SR1IR is my workhorse. I've got somewhere around 40 of them with anywhere from 25-30 up most of the year. I use them on my land listings as well as about 1500 acres I manage. Been extremely fortunate with very few issues, they are just a solid camera.

My wife got me a Moultrie in March. It worked for a month or so and then started filling with water every time it rained. I was fairly unhappy when it quit working. Sent it in and within a couple of weeks I had a brand new one in hand. No hassle at all and they upgraded the model. It's worked perfectly since then. I'm wanting another camera or two, might check with you for deals sometime...

Browning Strike Force Cameras are good, been really impressed with them overall and Cabelas is having an online sale on them right now
