Laundry detergent

Is it necessary to use a detergent made by a "scent blocking" company or would any scent-free detergent be effective?

I don't use the "scent blocker" detergents. I use "All Free and Clear" laundry detergent and also 1/2 cup of 20 Mule Team Borax in the load. Works great!

I was thinking along the same lines yesterday. Seems that all of the major hunting scent free detergents I've tried leave a scent behind that doesn't go away after multiple rinses. When I use a normal free and clear detergent like All or Tide, no perceived smell at all. I was considering using that instead, since I use it on everyday clothes. Anyone have similar experiences?

Only thing that concerns me is the use of uv brightners. I know that was a concern from years past, not sure if those are in normal free and clear detergents. Guess I need to do a little research.

After checking, looks like it does have them. Guess I may go to using baking sofa or borax

I usually was them to start the season with some type of unscented detergent......I don't remember the brand but it's advertised and no smell, for sensitive skin, no residue after wash, etc. I'll usually toss in some baking soda then as well. throughout the season I usually only use baking soda as my clothes are never really "dirty" but I want them de-stunk!

Those hunting washed are a ripoff.

I do exactly what difficult does. All and sometimes Borax with it.

I don't see the edit button on the Tapatalk ap. I was trying to say DogDoc. I have used All and Borax for years.

If you don't use the unscented detergent with the big buck picture on the label, you won't kill anything... I'm joking

Along with laundry detergent, the soap, bodywash and shampoos with deer on them are all overpriced jokes. Buy scent free stuff at your local health food/grocery for half the price. The only thing I don't get there is deodorant as most of the scent free deodorant doesn't have the aluminum in it. So I buy deodorant with a deer on it still because this works best for me.

I fall into this trap every year. lol
I'd love to be able to concoct my own creation and be confident in it, but a whitetails nose, knows! The one time I try my own homemade version will be the one time I get busted by a once in a lifetime buck. I bought one this season by Tinks. B-Tech, it's safe for carbon clothing is mainly why i bought it. 48 loads for .98!!!!! Can't beat that. Yes a 24 oz. jug ran my 98 cents. lol
