I have them naturally.....and a fair number of them. I am not sure if they would transplant well or not. Because I have enough of them as it is (and in my case they seem to only feed the coons) I can't say I have ever tried to grow them, so if there is a trick to it, I don't know it.
I’ve got about 20 pawpaws in a 20 gallon pot right now, started from seed. I stratified the seed in the fridge last winter, wrapped in damp paper towels after washing them in a weak bleach water solution to prevent molding. They are the slowest to germinate plant I’ve ever grown, planted them in March, and didn’t see growth until early July.

Wow - that is slow.....I would have given up on them by then. Glad to hear you stuck with them. I would not have thought they would need stratification, but .....I guess they do. Do they seem to grow well other than that? What is funny is that my natives seem to produce fruit best in broken sunlight, but they grow the fastest in full sun. I saw this as a result of some timber cut on my place. The paw-paw grew like crazy....but no fruit with all the new sunlight. Those still in the shaded areas - fruit much better. You will have to watch yours as the wood is very soft and snaps easily as well. So keep that in mind when you put them in their final home. Coons snap limbs off mine all the time when they are after the fruit.

Took some pictures while I was out on saturday.
I went out to water my chestnuts as I am still trying to save one and keep the other one alive. While I was doing this, I notice some of my corn was moving funny ....since there wasn't much of a breeze. It wasn't the dog - he was up in the shade. So I went to take a look.... Turns out a pair of fawns decided to play in my corn plot.
My apples in the SW plot and my chestnut crabs are doing well also.
This area is where I did some throw and spray for turnips. No green yet, but it's only been a week, but I got a good kill!
MG on the back porch is doing well also.....these will go to the screen location in a month or so.

First time I had captured something like that on cam. I like the video setting because I think you get a better idea of what is going on. I have a doe family group that is visiting this site on a regular basis.....a doe without any fawns and the a doe with these twins. The site I use for video hosting I am too cheap to pay for so I can only load so many video at a time...so it may be next week and I'll post a video of the bucks....unless I capture something more interesting.

Those are good looking deer J-B. When that one on the right has his neck to swell, he will look like a tank.

Just a cheap trace mineral block ($8 for a 50 pound block). I want to see the 8 pointer in person. He looks wide and big, but once the antlers harden things can change. Also with the summer body lacking the bulk can make things look bigger as well. It's the best buck I have on cam thus far. The little 10 gives me hope for a season yet to come. I will be working to get my daughter her first buck this year, and then I may hunt this 8 and see if he trips my trigger or not.

I got a little work done of the holiday.
Got some MG pots planted. Left was grown from cutting this spring and planted this weekend. Right was same process, just a year ago.
Here is my best apple tree this year. It has several dozen apples on it. Its a "people" variety and I wasn't smart enough to tag it! This tree is improving a sit had only about a dozen apples last year.
Here is some of my turnips that got broadcasted early Aug. I simply sprayed, broadcasted the seed and waited for the rain to do the rest. Right now it's just leaves, but will continue to monitor and see if/when the deer show some interest.....as they seem to ignore it most of the time, but it's good for the soil and good insurance.
This is a mowed "deer path" that I did last weekend. This is a path of least resistance between a wooded hill side and a field buffer. I have a stand up to take advantage and hope this will bring deer right where I want them. I need to male provisions to keep this path and not let it grow up again......but for right now, I think it will do what I am after. It leads to my plot and apples above.

Well, like almost every weekend - even with the rain, I couldn't stay in the house!
Made an unexpected purchase.....unexpected simply because I had not seen them for sale before. I was at my local Rural King store and I noticed they had gotten some more chestnuts in. As I walked over I noticed mixed in with them was some grafted persimmons trees (females). So I HAD to buy some. I limited myself to just 2, but planted in in area where I know the neighbor has some males.....
I also collected some swamp white oak acorns during my trip to Rural King.....I have a spot. I placed several acorns in pots on the back porch. This was friday.....I went out to check them sunday.....and the #$%& squirrels cleaned me out! I have since replaced those acorns with some white oak I collected and those pots are not inside a wire dog crate.....some time the cage is to keep things in.....sometimes it's to keep things out! I'll get some more swamp white oaks..... I only lost the battle, not the war!
While I was out checking on other things I also checked on my Chinkapin oaks (which are doing well) and I found some of the biggest pawpaw's I have seen in a while....
The turnips are also coming along..... As you can see I had some additional inspectors! I figure these should grow some decent bulbs yet this fall.
Also found an opportunity. With the weather we have had I found where a small yellow/tulip poplar had been uprooted and decided to take advantage and placed my trail cam over it just to see how the deer react. Time will tell.....
I also freshened the drip vine with a new one (sorry pic was blurry) but the sap began to run as soon as it was hung so I look for it to get some attention.....I'll move a cam to it soon to capture any activity.
I pulled both cam cards and nothing really to report. We did get a video of a young curious buck (a forkhorn), but other than that just a couple does and their fawns. Fawns are just starting to loose their spots here.

No pics this time just some general updates.
The down tulip poplar I put a cam on......a doe family group has visited it everyday that I had a cam on it. The video and the evidence on the tree clearly show they are eating the leaves......the leaves are still green.
I spread some winter wheat as well into my turnips and some other places just as some additional green food. The wheat will survive our winters here.
Apples are still holding on my trees, gave the 2 new persimmons trees and some struggling chestnut trees a drink as well.
My oaks are starting to become ready my chinkapin are just starting while my white oak and a few burrs are still holding tight. I was able to pot up some more SWO I collected as well.
I put cams back out and tried to mount them higher (roughly 7' to 8' - comfortable for me to reach) and tried to get them to angle down to see if that helps with triggers and deer staring and investigation or fearing the cams. We will see.
The MG that I had potted seems to be doing pretty well as well as they are still green.
I also put bigger cages (full size) on the sawtooths in my north corner plot as well. Some are reaching beyond their previous cage and I didn't want the deer browsing the tops of them. not sure they would, but I didn't want to chance it. I got 3 full size cages left over.....guess I need to buy 3 more trees!
