I have the ingredients, can you help with the recipe?

I have two 1/2 acre plots and a 1/4 acre plot, medium to well drained soil. PH about 6.5. Went to the local coop and bought the following:

56lb bag Rye (grain)
2lbs Ladino White
2lbs Crusade Int. White Clover
2lbs FSG 402 3yr Red Clover
5lbs Eco-Till Radish
5lbs Purple Top Turnip
2lbs Chicory

Would like to create some good perennial clover plots but also would like to add variety. Don't need to use all of this, but can you food plot experts help me decide how to cook?

That looks like a mix I'm going to use this fall, Whitetail Institute's white clover says 8 lbs per acre. IMO I would use everything you have their except the radish's and PTT's, I would use half of each of those, that seems like alot, but there are a few guys on here that would know more. I'll be following this as well. Good luck

JMHO, but like SIL says, cut back on the radish and PTT, but since you want to make clover the star of your show, I'd increase those quantities, in particular, since you're broadcasting (I assume).

Maybe/acre:
56lb bag Rye (grain)
3lbs Ladino White
2lbs Crusade Int. White Clover
10lbs FSG 402 3yr Red Clover
2lbs Eco-Till Radish
2lbs Purple Top Turnip
2lbs Chicory

A thick stand of anything will be good weed control (up to a point), in and of itself.

3 clovers and oats 11-15-15.jpg This is my mix (for the southeast .... annuals) and below is what it looks like in October.
40 lbs of oats
8 lbs of crimson
8 lbs of arrowleaf
8 lbs of medium red
2 lbs of daikon radish
And 10 - 20 lbs of peas

I'd also consider taking the Chicory out or planting it in a strip by itself. The reason? If you want a perennial clover plot, anything that you use to control/kill the broad leaf weeds in the clover, will kill the chicory. Just a thought.

So with the seed you have I would convert one of the half acre plot to a perennial using all 6# of the clover, your 2# of chicory, 1 pound of radish, and 35# of your rye.

The other half acre plot would get ptt.

The last quarter gets the rest of the rye and radishes.

I think I figured numbers correctly but disclaimer- I just took 15mg of oxy 45 minutes ago:D
