Ya, I guess I needed a little push to post. I still take pics of everything we're doing but haven't been taking the time to update stuff. I'm glad he said something. I like the "longhorn" buck.

Seriously awesome stuff you do with house and family. Very nice barn/shed/garage. That's on my list in the next few years. My ins agent, a good friend, said I should tear down my old barn and I told him barns may collapse but farmers never tear one down. And it was full of "stuff". He just shook his head.

Lol, I seriously thought of you while posting but didn't a suitable sunrise pic to post.
Take to much stuff out of your barn and it might fall down. You are right... a barn should never get torn down!

The youngest kid shot a deer last night. He hunted hard through November and saw two really big bucks but they didn't present shots. Other than those two he hadn't really had a lot of luck hunting this yr. When this one showed up last night he got VERY excited! It wasn't hard for him to decide this is the one! One happy kid!

Thanks guys! The kid is awfully happy with that deer.

Triple, I'm convinced we have some of the best sunrise and sunsets in the world.
 
It's 18 degrees when we get up this morning, the boy drags himself out of bed and climbs a tree. It's a nice morning but kind of slow. We see a ton of ducks (using the pond behind us), 5 different eagles, a doe/2 fawns, and a pair of beautiful coyotes . No bucks though. He is trying to tough it out because he is in a basketball tournament this weekend and won't have much time to hunt. Mid morning he looks at me says he's cold. His fingers are past hurting and it's time to call it a day.


We hoof it back to the car and drive home. Walk through the front door, set our guns down, take our gloves off, and walk to the back of the house to turn the tv on and look out the windows. I look down and there is a deer standing in our lateral field right behind the deck (I just happened to plant it to clover and chicory a yr ago). He grabs my gun, wipes the fog off the scope, steps outside and shoots. The boy got his buck for the yr... from the comfort of the house! Should have just hunted from the living room this morning.
