Will someone please confirm what type of tree this is. I have a ton of them but have never seen deer eating the ‘acorns’. Thanks in advance [IMG]

Chestnut oak. Depending on your soil type, deer either love em or hate em.

Thanks! I’ve got them all over my farm. Would like to think they eat them but I sure see A LOT of them intact.

I have a few on my place. One of them was getting hammered in early September and was a huge reason I saw so many deer in that area. I found another one in that same trip maybe 1/2 mile away. The ground was covered with acorns and it certainly made me think that it wasn’t getting the same attention. It could have simply been dropping at a much higher rate.
