Geo in Co

I've run into several bears hiking in the Smokies. No problems. Had one nosing the tent with me in it. I was a little nervous on that one.

Get that hand well man. Nothing to fool around with and we need it to keep taking those great pics

I promise.

I'm doing home therapy and rest. The edema is gone but the tendons in the palm and fingers are still sore with about a 60% fist.

I think your lap dog might have some Angus in him. His head looks like it weighs more than my Jack Russel!

Hey E, I think perhaps that angus may be more believable than boxer. I emailed pictures of Tank to mypetdna.com and told them that they are 70% wrong. They said no we stand by our science up to 74% boxer and up to 9% st Bernard would make a very mastiff looking dog. Then I asked them to riddle me this, as a fawn American Staffordshire terrier Tanks Mom passed down a recessive dilute gene d to her offspring. 3 of Tank's 4 siblings also received a recessive dilute gene d from their father and are diluted blue in color dd. St Bernard and boxers do not carry the dilute gene. Weimaraners and Slovakian pointers are always dilute. Dilute genes are rare in other breeds that carry the dilute gene. 4 breeds that the dilute gene is common are Italian greyhound, whippet, Tibetan Mastiff, and Neapolitan Mastiff. More support for my belief that Tank is half Neapolitan mastiff. mypetdna.com choose to ignore this fact and still stand by their science. One word, scam.

Beautiful pictures and stories G, thanks for sharing. Glad the hand is on the mend.

Thanks for stopping by Weasel. I'm still working toward full range of motion and can go about 50% without reaggravating it.

This DNA test is the only one I recommend, but even it is not guaranteed. Would be interesting to see what they think Tank is:

Hey cut, I was tempted to order a wisdom after the results of findmypetdna, I may yet, just a bit reluctant to be duped again. Mars wisdompanel is taking over mypetanchestry this month, who did the testing for findmypetdna.

Tank is 101lbs this am.

I dislocated my middle finger of my good hand yesterday on the mat so now I can't close either hand with a tournament in Albuquerque in 2 weeks.

George - Always a treat to catch up on your CO adventures. You nailed it naming Tank! Easy on the workout routines though.

They went back to stage 2 and let us back in the woods as of 3:00 pm Thursday.

River water levels are about where they should be at the end of August.

Big browns move up here for cooler water in July and August but I didn't see any.

We found another Momma in the woods this am, I saw one cub in the tree. The neighbors cholo cur that often joins us for our morning hike uninvited went after the bear and made a hasty retreat when the bear just missed catching it. Tank wanted to rip the bear up as he stayed by my side to guard me.

A different swimming hole, the Ausable below Mio, MI. We checked the river out to fish but the water was 74 degrees.

Back in Colorado yesterday. Still under stage 2 fire restrictions but monsoon season has started and you couldn't start a fire with gasoline today.

On June 29th I put Tank in doggie day care then weighed in at 199.9lb down in Albuquerque making cruiser weight. Weight cut was useless anyway as me and fellow geriatric roller team mate Dan matched with younger and perhaps heavier opponents. Dan won his match for gold against a heavier younger man no gi then withdrew from gi because of a muscle injury. I just went gi and was a house on fire for 2 minutes then when my already depleted muscle glycogen reserves got burned up Jose smothered my fire for the next 2 minutes chalking up twice as many points, hence the participation medal. Me and Jose parted new temporary best friends. No injuries for me, my hands are still on the mend getting stronger.

May have gotten an inch of rain yesterday afternoon in the hills. We were bumping fawns around this morning but they were camera shy.

Trying to pay some bills, I finished edges on two knives yesterday that are now ready for new homes.

Does that picture imply that you test all your knives on wild game? Great pics as usual Geo

No Silly, the new owner gets to spill first blood. They do however get tested on a few 1,000 arm hairs. Thanks lak.

I'm rehoming one with T-max, thanks T-max.
