The way he is built, I think you gave him the perfect name. He really is a tank!

Steve, I came up with Tank Jr crossing the salt flats on the return trip and pretty much thought that was about the dumbest name that I could come up with and it stuck. 15 weeks, 50 lbs, Tank is about the size of his Mom.
Mix gladiator and game and we get hybrid vigor.

We went up a couple of Saturdays ago down below on ranch
and found one little chalky shed.
We found several trails with fresh cat tracks of multiple animals and smelled lots of urine. After our visit a big farm fresh bull elk was found killed by a cat.
Thursday we hit the tamer hill tops above the hood
where I killed
to check out the bedding area. Lots of brush a little more secluded from the recreating public.
Just hiking this trip, not shed hunting, Colorado has a new shed hunting season on public ground that doesn't start till May.
Tank hit 60lbs today at 17.5 weeks

I can't believe how much he has grown since your last update. That brush country has a different look that a lot of your other pictures. Great update.

Thanks for checking in guys.
We went up Ice Cave ridge yesterday to check on animal sign. I found the saddle down into the Williams Creek canyon but choose to go back up and find the ice caves.
Much to my chagrin my little puppy had to see what was over every ledge and crack.

Great update! Would not want to stumble into the crack walking in early in the morning. I bet there are some bones in them deep crevices.

George...It's been a while since we've heard from our Colorado transplant. Hope all is well. You're never to far from my mind cause every time I go to the farm I place my keys on the shelf next to your knife. Was down last weekend and thought about you when I laid down my keys.

Dogghr, I'm a bit concerned Tank has only put on 1/2lb/day the past two days.
TC, all is sunny in Colorado, lots of outdoor time.
Well, actually yesterday morning wasn't so sunny
but this morning was. Tanks first river excursion.
When he found a river between us
he was all in.
You won't see a Rottweiler do that. Tank will be 6 months next Friday and he weighed in at 84lbs this am.
Dan caught some fish. I need some warmer water before I start catching.

Holy smokes...I think Tank has put on a few more pounds since the last update. That dog is not only big, he is beautiful.....

Thanks Steve, last update he was 62lbs. I saw on the internet a Lady Veterinarian described the neo x pit as a grotesque breed. Tank is likely to put on another 50-60 lbs.

Thanks Dave, I was impressed with his strength and agility in the water. He is a real trooper out in the wild, in public around cars, bikes, skate boards, and strangers, not so much.

My concerns were short lived, he put on 1 1/4lbs/day the past two days for a total of 86 1/2. This projects him out to 148.6lbs adult weight on the puppy weight calculators. Not many breeds out pacing him on the calculator, St Bernard, Kangal, American Mastiff. He's on par with Bully Kutta.

So firewood permits became available May 1, my bed heaping splits into a heavy half.
I have been walking past this tree since I've been in CO uprooted and laying cantilevered out over a little gully but it didn't brown out making it legal till last year. A one mile drive to the trail head and 180 yard wheel barrel ride, 80 of which cross country, I was calling it low hanging fruit.
Then I found a log Monday afternoon while on a log scouting mission down the road behind the hood. I was reconnoitering a scene of a fallen tree missing it's trunk 100 yards off the road when Chevy dragging it's ass loaded with 30" rounds drove by. I spotted the cut end 100 yards off the road 2 miles down on the return trip. The tree was cut green and was 1 pickup load shy of a full trunk. I grabbed a load Monday evening after class and returned 6:30 Tuesday morn
and was loaded by 7:30. It is legal to drive 300 feet off the road to load wood as long as there is no damage to the soil and vegetation.
I returned in the evening to grab the piece that I'm standing on. I gave the other guy all day but he didn't return. I was perplexed because it is not legal to cut green trees. It is also illegal to cut dead ponderosa over 15" at the base. My guess is that the Government cut the tree to avoid displacing the top soil.
