Thanks guys, softy is probably an understatement. I got zero work done in the past two days except putting a little fallow deer in the freezer. Yesterday Tank was rather whiny and more than zero space between us was way too far. Today he was the great explorer mapping out all of his territory. Not much puppy cowardice in this boy, he's a good one.

I am not too sure what to make of Tank. At nine weeks weighing 24lbs he is about twice the weight of Hank at nine weeks. Floppy ears, low tail, loose skin, long legs, I think Daddy might have been a hound dog. He has no problem keeping up. I'm going to get him started on blood trails pretty soon.

Thanks guys, it will be fun to see what he turns into if I am able to resist the urge that I have at times to strangle him. He is not a quick study in regards to taking his business outside or should I say OUTSIDE!!!
He got game when he started smelling animals out in the woods.
He weighs what a great dane should weigh at 9 weeks. I'm limiting the amount of food that he is eating to the amount of food that Hank ate as an adult. Venison on top of that. If he grows into what he has got going now, he will be a big one.

Yep, my ex Loved One/veterinarian had to be told and she suggested 6 cups mixed 50/50 the Zignature and a good puppy food for more Ca and P for the next 4 weeks. Because of his size and a picture I sent, she thought Dad was a Great Dane.
Yesterday he was 30lbs at 11 weeks.
Not to worry, he is all bull dog.

I like the cat like feet on that pup. Have you taught him to cross the brooks yet? Leaving them crying on the other side as I pretend to walk away was always a struggle but oh the Joy when they discover they have the power to cross and come running up to you! Pups and the dogs they eventually become are just the greatest. Good luck with Tank Geo; I know he will have good luck with you.

With his long/longer legs and paddles my guess is that he will enjoy his river time.
That's what National Forest Lands are made for. Now at home, I keep his 2 favorite toys, deer legs and an empty PBR 12 pack container, readily available.
Me thinks you are going to need a bigger saddle!
Oh I had contemplated going down and picking up a rottenweiler for $2,500 but I went with the little dog for $250. Yesterday Tank weighed a pound more than he did the previous day and today he weighs a pound more than yesterday. Go figure.
Tank has been on 5 easy, short kibble/blood trails. We have more distractions in our immediate area than we had in Iowa. Tank enjoys the task and piece o meat and deer hide reward but has yet to put it all together. Were working on it, he is showing positive signs, like when the other day he recrossed the trail hours later, picked up on it, and trailed to where he found his prize earlier.
Right now, he is tough, he is stubborn, and he thinks that perhaps he might just slide in to the top dog position. I've got 2 stripes on my white belt, when he wants to fight we do take down and submission. Hank was the easiest puppy I ever had but he also had 2 big rottenweilers to show him the ropes and help him with how things worked. Tank is a challenge.

So when I got my new little pitbull puppy home I quickly realized that Tank wasn't a little pitbull puppy as a result of an accidental breeding. Day one or two I looked at Neapolitan Mastiff puppies and said oh my goodness. I had heard the term Bandogges and have now researched the animal. A popular Bandog cross is a pitbull x Neapolitan Mastiff. This cross brings together the tenacity, prey drive, agility and athleticism of the pit and the size, power, and guarding instincts of the mastiff. It is said that bandogs bred just for the sake of making dogs are mutts, dogs breed for a working purpose are Bandogges. Tank was the result of a breeding that took place in a Humboldt county dope patch and I'm now convinced that it was an intentional breeding to make guard dogs. Guard dogs seasonally left behind in Humboldt county are a serious problem but that's another story.
When I first started looking at videos of these animals I was a bit concerned, these are/can be intense animals, pitbulls on steroids, real man stoppers.
Not to worry Tank is a precious, little sweetie boy, and is doing great in the house and is probably already the most well mannered dog in the hood. His obedience training is coming along very well. We don't have total recall yet but were working on it.
From the videos I've seen these dogs love the water, rushing water too. The first time Tank saw me take a shower he tried to get in.
