G&N Farm

IMG_2041.JPG Was out bush hogging my sunflowers today to give the doves a little more to eat and this coyote showed up and followed me around for thirty minutes. He did chase a rabbit I scared off, but he was unsuccessful. He obviously knew I was unarmed.

That pic of those bucks in the water is really cool. Did you know they where visiting or did you just get lucky? Looks like you have some selection for this fall as well.

Always see yotes when you don't have a gun.....I swear they can smell a gun!

The bucks in the water are from a camera that has been in place for two months and then it started raining in August - which it is not supposed to do here. We should be 100 degrees and not a drop of rain in a month right now - but have received rain all month and everything is flooded and deer just keep coming through. Had to put on my waders to check the camera.

Nice family of deer, pond pic was awesome. My deer seldom visit my ponds unless severe drought. Guess they use the creek and water from plants.
That yote has the mange I believe. Prob won't last thru the winter and prob has carried it into the den infecting all. No quicker kill occurs in the predator coyote packs than mange. I saw it pass thru my place 3 years ago, and they are very few at moment, just my old grey bearded one the I know quite well.

I hope it does them in. Our fawn to doe ratio is less than .5 fawns per doe - something is getting them

Holy cow, that's more deer in one place than I have ever seen in person.

My deer densities really need some help!

Our deer densities are down in the general area, too. I only have 280 acres, so cant really manage the deer and expect them not to get shot if I pass them. But, not many food plotters in my local, mostly cattle ranchers, so my food plots are attractive and draw deer - especially bucks - from quite a distance. We also dont shoot does, and that seems to be helping. I need to beat the coyotes back some in May and June to try to increase our fawn numbers, but it is illegal to kill them during those two months.

IMG_2068.JPG Forestry mulcher in on our new property - finally. Been too wet for them to work. Got a mile of fence row to mulch, dozer coming in the end of this week to push some food plots.

Thinning? You need an eradication plan, lol!
You see any deer swamp? I didn't think I'd get to got till the first week of Oct, but I may get to thu and Fri this week. I hope it's cooler then.

That's a lot of bacon walking around. And laying on ground too. Was it too hot to process the meat?

I saw a doe and fawn and one unidentifiable deer. I cut the back straps out of the hogs so didnt end up empty handed.
