    Hi folks!

We've put it off for a long time since this place generally works pretty well, but we're planning on upgrading the forum.

The big news here is that tapatalk will no longer work. This isn't our decision, tapatalk is simply changing their business model and are no longer working with independent forums. Truth be told, 90% of the time I spend working on the tech sides of things is fixing their problems, so frankly it'll be a little refreshing for me personally.

The good news is that the upgrade will have a *significant* improvement in the mobile web page.

I'd like to throw this out there and invite discussion to this decision. We definitely want to make this place friendlier rather than less-friendly, and all ideas/disagreements/agreements/etc are welcome!!!

    Tim

Hi Tim, is there a way to fix this issue quickly. Today myself and many others have started having an ad pop up and cover part of the topics, we have to manually delete it and give a reason why we want to delete it to google and then we can see the topics. We can’t create new topics and we can’t PM on the actual website but have to go to Tapatalk to do any of that stuff.

Hopefully the ads aren't permanent. In the "Live from the Stand" thread they are after every comment. I don't mind a couple, but this is ridiculous. Especially when they are ads for 7 women to every man "dating" sites-lol.

Well, I hate that I’ll have to miss the 7:1 thing, but those ads are ridiculous. I despise google in every way imaginable and I had to log out and back in just to respond. Tried to pm cutman to see what this was about and couldn’t even do that. H E L P !

I have no control over the ads. I use an Ad Blocker and have never seen an ad on this site. Based on what Tim (Al Nipper) texted me earlier, the ad that is causing problems now is Google’s fault. I’ll keep investigating and see if there is anything we can do to get the offending ad flagged in Googles system so it can be removed.

I don’t see them now. I flagged them as covering content and they disappeared but I’m not sure that’s why.

Will the new system make it easy to post pics from a phone? I loved tapatalk for that reason alone, but they basically took it away so now I'm hopeful for easy mobile posting directly to the site.

I got a HUGE AD covering most of this original Post, then another ad between every 2nd and 3rd post.
Losing Tapatalk is a huge disappointment. It allowed me and others to access the site and post while out in the woods, like in the Live from the Stand threads. It also allowed for easy and simple posting of Pics right from where you were and not having to load the via some hosting site or account, which I do not have and do not intend to ever have.

Really hope some issue with Tapatalk can be resolved. It really makes Forum Access a breeze and a blessing.

Guys, I do not nor have I ever used tapatalk, I just didn’t like the format. I use the MINIMA app to resize pics and have no trouble posting them. It’s a free app, just go to the app store and download it. Makes it much easier to post pics.

Love tatpatalk, so easy to upload pics but life moves on and I can accomodate w a new update. Biggest complaint is that dang popup ad and in addition since it started I've lost the Asian women dating ad for old men and I'm seriously depressed and lonely. Don't tell the wifey!

We all hate change, but the only thing that stays the same is the fact that there will always be change, for better or worse. Bye tapatalk.

Well so far Tapatalk must still be working because I’m using it right now.

I hope that whatever Answer is found it works for us Posters as easy as Tapatalk has for me.

I get it that things change. I didn’t have the Tapatalk App before I did and if the other forum I visit with regularly drops it I’d have no reason for it. I hope that doesn’t happen as we use it for posting Fish Pics for our Monthly Bragging Contest.

It seems the ads are no longer blocking the first couple of topics in our forums now so we are definitely getting somewhere. I think the main thing for me on these forums is to be able to take a photo with my phone and immediately post it directly to the site without a lot of resizing and having to have some kind of photo hosting site that always eventually starts charging you per month for photo storage. I lost a bunch of stuff in photo bucket...

Another thing is I think we need to dress the place up a bit...new background. Etc...

is that going to be doable with our new format?
