Latest track that I’ve seen. This model and others have us getting up to 20 inches of rain. After raining this week, and all summer for that matter we are saturated. Don’t been anymore rain! Hope that everyone else in the path, and anyone along the coast is preparing. Afraid not much we can do about this one.

The mandatory evacuation line is the street in front of my sister-in-law's house. She can stay, the people on the other side of the road have to leave. She isn't sure what to do yet, it's her first hurricane.

Yep this looks a bad one for most NC and VA. I've got place at MB but it looks spared at this time. When Hugo came in 88 we had 80+ mph winds and heavy rains even this far inland. My buddy leaving Va beach to crash with me, and daughter in Raleigh debating. You guys be careful.

Those are some pretty important decisions mentioned above. Please stress to those you love to error on the side of caution. Nature can be cruel and merciless.

Its going to suck. Was thinking about heading to western Virginia with kids but now Im leaning on staying in Raleigh.
Got a new 9000w generator last week and should be able to ride it out ok.. Worried the damage in the mountains will be worse with flooding, roads washed away, etc. If this thing stalls, the mountains will be hit hard.

Now its off to the backyard to dismantle a 20' trampoline..:mad:

Yep and some of the areas around me on the Potomac already flooded this past weekend just going to get way worse...

Just turn the trampoline over and it will be fine. Once it is upside down, there is nothing for the wind to lift.
It's one of those with the large steel poles that contain the safety net. I got about a half hour in with the wrench and ran out and bout some ground anchors at aggrisupply. Lashed her down good like

Any of you guys that have friends or family needing a place to bunker for a few days I'll offer a stay at my farm. Located in Lexington, GA, about 5 hrs from Florence, SC. 2 cabins decently furnished with A/C.
I'll be down early midmorn with my bow. Need gps coordinates of your best stands, please. I'll tell the ones crashing in my place from Raleigh and VA beach I'll be home soon. Love ya man.

Load up n come on! Got the perfect stand for ya if you can handle 93 degrees on Saturday. I'll even throw a butt on the Traeger and have it ready when you get here. If evacuees show up you can educate em on all the weeds I've yet to i.d.

Putting stuff away and then back again is the worst part of most storms for me. I still need to put the backboard back up on a basketball goal that I took down last week for Tropical Storm Gordon. Gordon hit just 20 miles to the east of me, but Gordon didn't have a west side to it. We might have had a half inch of rain and hardly any wind. I will take it.

I keep hoping upper level wind shear will rip Florence apart before she hits. Everyone stay safe and remember that material things can be replaced.

Went from 85 mph winds and 20" rain in Raleigh to 55 and 2.8 according to latest forecast LOL. I swear its a plot to get people to buy stuff. After the new generator and whatnot, I'm out about 1300 bucks.
If anyone in SC wants to drive up here, I'll sell you a generator and a months worth of canned goods for 700.

What am I going to do with 7 full, 6 gallon gas cans??

Don't get rid of anything yet. Katrina hit Louisiana and Mississippi on Monday morning. Sixty hours before landfall it was supposed to hit Panama City, Florida. I was on vacation in Destin on the Friday before and thought I would be leaving Saturday to avoid the storm hitting Florida. I left Saturday to drive home to pack and board up and then headed back to Destin to avoid the storm that had a bullseye on my house. The track moved 300 miles west in less than 24 hours. Things can change quickly and it never hurts to be prepared.

Better safe than sorry. When the power lines go down and you can't leave if you want, and Public Safety won't respond you are stuck in a bad spot.

Do you have any boats, 4 whlers, chainsaws, tillers, wood splitters or other power equipment? Forty gallons of gas would last me about two weeks - and that is if I didnt put it in my truck or car. ;)
