Seems this is the appropriate place to start posting video from the farm and ranch. Kinda property tour via video. I am new to youtube so lots to learn. Hopefully the video speaks for itself as there is no editing wizardry, BBD, or hyperventilating hunters. Just deer and some thoughts on same.

Thanks, With you experience in marketing do you have any guidance on youtube? I know nothing about it excepting what I've learned in the last couple weeks. My 22 yr old son had to set the channel up for me. I hope to be expansive enough to attract a broader audience than just those that like to grow big radishes but am clueless how to get to bigger audience. In the mean time I'm having fun and have lots of material to keep clips coming...I think with some of them being rather surprising. Nature shows cool things. Im going forward with the assumption that 10 mins or less is about right for the typical attention span? At least thats true for me.

Problem with us 60 and older guys is that we've given up on learning new technology beyond the iPhone camera. Best advice I can give is turn the video/documentation process over to one of your kids. The younger crowd in my world run circles around me on digital marketing. I'm still old school. The coolest thing I ever did was buy a drone (DJI Phantom 4), that thing was awesome for documenting stuff from above ground level. I took some really cool footage of my property and have posted a pic or two. Only problem is I crashed it into a 80 ft tall pine tree is it was supposed to be crash proof. The new DJI Mavics are cool drones with more than 2 miles of range. We use them quite a bit in promoting biz but I ain't flying them.

As far as hand helds...check out the DJI Osmo cams. They are the latest rage with incredible quality and technology. The stabilization feature is hard to believe. As far as content, you'll figure that out with all the years you've got under your belt. Your passion for being a great land steward as well as desire to grow animals to maturity always comes thru in your written post. I have no doubt it will in your YouTube stuff.

Thanks again, When the preponderance of your mail involves medicare forms you realize gravity is real. I saw some of your drone footage and was inspired. Following your lead I'll get the LSU kid involved in purchase and usage. I've flown jets for many years but uncomfortable with the idea of crashing a drone.

    Feedback always welcome!

Since I posted a deer video from the farm seems appropriate that I post some ranch video as well. When I have more time I will show video of this bucks growth at 4,5,6 then here at 7 . Fascinating.

Great videos. I love to see big deer, but am really looking forward to your food plotting videos. I have a NT drill, and am pondering building a crimper.

Thanks, with it being February there is only so much I can do with food plotting and farm activities. It has been raining here almost constantly all month. So I'm mostly playing with video I made during the last season plus some older stuff that has good quality. Patience and I will dig into the farm deeply.

Thanks for doing this Baker, will definitely be following along. Always liked reading your posts. Very inspiring seeing what you’ve been able to do in LA, maybe one of these days we’ll be able to do the same up here in Jackson Parish.

You ain’t joking on the rain, just doesn’t seem like it wants to ever stop...

Baker...That is one magnificent deer taken from your ranch in Mexico. Hard to believe they grow that big down there. Noticed what looked to be a covey of quail crossing the road behind the buck. Some of the best quail, dove and waterfowl hunting I ever experienced was near San Fernando about 2 hrs south of McAllen. Quit going due to drug cartel issues. Hunted with Las Palmas outfitters. Never saw a deer during the hunts but wasn't looking for them either.

KInda like watching porn(so I've heard), makes me feel woefully inadequate. JK. My staff call my deer forum surfing "deer porn" anyways. I'm on for the ride, should be interesting.
The LA property can be a bit deceiving for comparison as it obviously has no predator involvement, poaching, or road kill. The Mexican is more exposed to predator, but do you see much poaching on that ranch? Also what would you say are your dpsm on each place? Thanks for showing.

Ha ! There may be more truth to this than most realize. Following the Chapo Guzman trial many interesting things came out including his use of specially equipped freight trains for shipping drugs to the U.S. ...right thru ports of entry . Course he also has submarines and airplanes. Don't think you get worth $16 Billion using wetbacks swimming the river with a burlap sack of pot:)

I'll go into a lot more detail on both properties soon as time allows with both written descriptions as well as video.
