Easy way to move 3 point equipment and trailers.

Just wanted to share an easy way to move 3 point equipment if you have an FEL on your tractor.

First you weld a receiver hitch to the top of your bucket in the very center and then weld a wide center hook to the top of that. The hook needs to have a wide enough throat to fit the hitch pen or bolt assembly that holds the center link of your 3 point accessory together.

See the following photos to see how easy this makes moving equipment without having to even leave your tractor seat...

Since I am constantly moving tractor and equipment from property to property I had to come up with the easiest options to move things...

The extra receivers on my bucket allow me also to add ball hitches so I can easily move trailers as well...

I will also add moving trailers...
The receiver hitch with the hook can't be dropped low enough for smaller bumper pull trailers and is used for fifth wheel and gooseneck type stuff or tall bumper pull. The other receiver works well for lower trailers when you have bucket at nearly full dump. My hitch I use has a drop on it as well that makes it even lower...

My bucket is set up for moving just about anything I own or may run into to move...

Nice mod. Why two different receiver hitches versus one and using a 2" receiver mounted hook such as this? http://www.autotrucktoys.com/accessories/images/OMX11237.01-Rugged-Ridge-Black-Receiver-Tow-Hook.jpg something with the angles maybe?
You said it...different angles...

Have to have the hook on line with the bucket because you need to use the bucket edge to brace and hold equipment from flopping around. Also that receiver is great for tall hitch types and will not work for low hitch trailers.

The other receiver can get low enough in dump mode to get under a low bumper pull hitch and you don't even have to move the trailer jack. Just pick it up, move, and set down while never leaving the tractor seat...

Study your bucket and how it articulates and the distances you have to work with...

I wish I had a photo but I also use that hook to hook low limbs on trees and rip them off when I am brushhogging so I can get under them...acts like a very strong hand attached to a very strong arm...

I really like it. The hook idea is great and it sure beats the ratchet straps I have been using, but I have to wonder if the single pin on the piece of 3pt equipment can withstand the weight of a tiller or a disc

My disk is 8 foot and I move it everywhere...the bucket edge itself holds it stable. When I haul it on the trailer I carry it up on the trailer and set it down and get the hook to release and then drive up to it with bucket high and then full dump the bucket and lower it over it so that it is captured between the tractor and loader. I do this when I already have an implement on the back.

You can also lift and move brushhogs and never leave the seat of your tractor...also handy for when you need to sharpen or change blades...
