I planted Durana/ oats in a plot following buckwheat on 8/4. We’ve had decent rain and I checked the plot last weekend and don’t notice any clover sprouts. The oats are doing great though. How long should I wait before reseeding if I continue to not seeing clover growth?

Durana will germinate based on soil temperature and moisture. The soil needs to be down in the low 60's or the high 50's. The seed is still there, but Mother Nature wants the conditions just right.

If I'm remembering correctly, Durana is also very slow germinating and developing (definitely slower that Ladino for instance).

That makes sense. I planted another plot with Durana/ oats on the same day and the clover is coming up in the shaded portions. Our night time temps have been in the mid 60’s since I planted.

Does anyone have experience with Durana in northern climates? I’m intrigued with something that might crowd out weeds.
