I’m sorry but we had the 6th wettest July on record. 4” above normal. Usually my clover is toast in August but this year it looks like May. Mowed it today to do weed control and I’ve never done such this late. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Lets look at the positives. When you do finally get a good rain, you should get plenty of infiltration...
It’s raining in Kansas City……again. Meanwhile in the SE Kansas desert it’s 102 with a 20-25 mph south wind.
We were 99 with a strong south wind...slight chance of rain in the morning but not holding our breath...
This one came from the North and missed us. The only direction it hasn’t come from and missed us is east, I expect that to happen next time. 100% chance of rain today btw. How does this continue to happen????
Good deal Okie, glad you’re getting it. We have a decent chance next week according to the weather liars, but the main thing I’m seeing is that our temps are supposed to moderate somewhat. Mid to low nineties beat the hell out of 100+ temps.
We got a little rain this afternoon. Not enough to help trees or hay meadows but it will perk up the grass a little. Better than nothing and I’m thankful for that.
We have a chance for rain the next 3 days. Please, please, please!! Edited to say looked at weather.com and they are not calling for hardly any chance; accuweather on the other hand is calling for a legitimate shot at rain. I hope the wrong one doesn’t have a clue what they’re taking about. Every weather site has let us down recently though.
All sites are lowering our chance for rain now. I think they were just being cruel the last couple days.
Eureka, about 90 miles away, is getting a dose now. One thing we have going for us is the Coffeyville Interstate Fair and Rodeo; it almost always rains during this some messing up rodeo plans. Please, please, please! Edited to say the small cell dried up before it got to us. No biggie I guess, it was small anyway. No rain under 3” is going to do jack.
Droughts suck! Period! Hope you guys in drought areas get some rain and relief from the heat. Last one we had down here was 2016. Thought we were headed into another one in June but July brought timely rains that have continued. Everything went from brown to green in short order.
