Doe in estrous attractants?

I’ve been wondering, how should the doe in estrous attractants be used for hunting over? If you set a wick soaked in doe estrous urine on a tree near your stand, any deer downwind of it would also smell you, wouldn’t they?
I’d also like to hear about any experiences people have had using these attractants

I use scents for starting a mock scrape, making a scent drag to my stand or when decoying...other wise I don't use them. I seem to have better luck letting the deer do what the deer do and trying to figure that out than trying to make the deer do what I want them to do.... I always hunt the wind as well, regardless of my scanting containment plan is...so the last thing I want to do is to draw a deer down wind of me.

a little off topic, but along the lines of drawing a deer down wind of you, that's why I don't ever blind grunt. A mature buck in the area will typically try to get downwind of the grunt and wind you.
