Canola

This is my first year planting canola. Deer are eating it well enough that I will continue to plant some in the future. They don’t hit it as early as they do radishes, but when I watched them yesterday, they were browsing canola as much as anything else in the plots. The fact that it works well with throw and mow is another plus.

Thanks dogghr. Yes, they have eaten it better since frost. It seems like I did 3 lbs per acre along with my regular mix of grains, chicory, clover and radishes. At some places it came up just a little too thick, so next year I may cut back to 2 lbs.
