I got this 8 point and noticed a big gash on his left side like he had a fight or some other injury. Gash was well into healing process. Then I see brass sticking out his left midsection. What do ya'll see?IMG_1585.jpg IMG_1589.jpg IMG_1602.jpg IMG_1603.jpg IMG_1603.jpg

So, it entered his rump and traveled down his side and nearly exited? Lucky buck! And piss poor shot angle by whoever attempted the first shot!

The deer's ear was slit longways in two also so I was thinking he got the ear and rump gash injury in a fight and the bullet was a separate incident? At the time I thought it was a through the belly shot that somehow he survived. That the gash could be caused by the bullet wasnt even on my radar. This is only my 5th deer so any comment/insight is apppreciated. There was a monster rain coming so I didn't have time to investigate it as thoroughly as I should have. I didnt see any "trail of damage" from the rump wound to the bullet site . I also didn't see an entry wound on opposite side of belly from bullet site but thought maybe it healed shut. Anybody know what kind of bullet that is? My shot was 308 from 55 yards through both shouders

We shot a turkey once that had a green buzz bait in his nostril. The other turkeys chased him all over, guess they thought he had something in his mouth.Glad you were able to take him

If you’d said goose with a buzzbait that would’ve made perfect sense to me but a turkey? Lord how in the world did that happen?
